Root Canal Therapy

Root canal treatment is an often straightforward procedure to relieve dental pain and save your teeth. Patients typically need a root canal when there is inflammation or infection in the roots of a tooth. During root canal treatment, an endodontist who specializes in such treatment carefully removes the tooth's pulp, a small, thread-like tissue in the center of the tooth. Then the remaining space is cleaned, disinfected and shaped and filled to seal off the root canal.

The signs of a root canal are:

  1. Severe throbbing pain

  2. Swelling and high bite on the tooth

  3. Hypersensitivity to hot and cold temperature

  4. Severe pain upon chewing and pressure

  5. Discolored tooth
